Matcha Accessories

To make the perfect cup of matcha it is helpful to have the right matcha accessories. In Japan, the traditional way to make matcha is to put about 1/2 teaspoon in a matcha bowl called a chawan, add a small amount of water and mix into a paste with a Bamboo Whisk called a chasen, then add one cup of hot water and mix in a zig-zag motion for about 20 seconds to make a perfect serving.

After mixing, rinse the bamboo whisk with hot water and put it on a matcha whisk stand. Keeping your whisk on the stand provides it a place to dry and helps it to hold it’s unique umbrella shape. The matcha bowls are perfect to hold in your hands without burning, keeping the tea just right to drink. The bowls are also lead free, raku Japanese matcha style bowls.
